Welcome to the Smart Common Input Method (SCIM) platform project, which provides not only a user friendly, full featured input method user interface for POSIX-style operating systems (including Linux, FreeBSD and other Unix), but also a development platform to make input method development easier.
Currently the SCIM project has a wide range of input methods (some may need other libraries), covering more than 30 languages, including (Simplified/Traditional) Chinese, Japanese, Korean and many European languages. Composing/Dead key support is also one of the built-in features. In addition, several projects have been established to design IMEngines for SCIM and others supply their own SCIM plugins.
It's mainly a bugfix version of stable 1.4 branch. Upgrade is encouraged for all users.
Another minor bug fix version of skim is made available today. It is generally recommended to upgrade from previous skim versions.
Recently increasing users are sending emails to our Mailing list without subscribe to it first. As you can see, these emails won't normally get through. I want to emphasis that please subscribe to our mailing lists before asking your questions.
The planned upgrade of SCIM project official website from eZ publish 3.5 to latest stable version 3.8 is successfully finished. Several new or improved features are implemented. The most important upgrade is the adoption of SJSD.
Yet another gtk-immodule for SCIM, "scim-bridge" has been released.
As announced in qt-immodule mailing list, a new version of Qt immodule was just released which fixed several crash bugs.
