Two New Developers joined and a new sub-project
Recently two new developers were joined SCIM project: William J Beksi and cooleyes. scim-ccinput was brought in as a new sub-project of SCIM by cooleyes. In addition, a forcast for upcoming releases is covered as well.
William has been documenting the bugs he come across when using SCIM and also has some features that he would like to implement. Currently he is working on packaging skim for Debian.
Cooleyes bring us with a new sub-project: scim-ccinput. ccinput was first developed by Opendesktop. However they abandoned it when scim-pinyin (formerly known as scim-chinese) became open source project. Cooleyes made the first port of ccinput to scim 1.2.x API. Now scim-ccinput is part of SCIM project, and all the sources were imported to the sourceforge CVS.
SCIM project will soon release first version in 1.3 series, which will not only contain scim, skim as usual, but also almost all the other packages will have a new version, including the newly joined sub projects scim-fcitx and scim-ccinput. Keep tuned!
